Band of Brothers in the Works!!!

Hey fellow blu ray fans....just wanted to let you all know there is an article on tvshowsondvd.com where HBO SVP of Marketing said there are plans for the amazing HBO mini series Band of Brothers to be release on blu-ray sometime in 2008. I think this is awesome news.

Yeah this is a MUST HAVE in my opinion......The Japenese HD DVD version is selling for a couple hundred bucks now....that is about twice what I think it will sell for when issued on Bluray.

I can't wait to pick it up.....I wonder how many discs it will be on?

well this bad boy sells for 50 new on amazon. so i bet it will be at least 80 for this mini series

It'll be interesting to see if it's any better quality than the Japanese HD DVD version. I don't think they'll remaster it.

Also, I kind of wonder if it'll make it in 2008. I tend to think that they'll release it around the time "The Pacific" comes out to promote their new miniseries.

I asked about the HD DVD Version because it would be great to know how good BoB can look in High Definition.

That't not necessarily a bad thing. The current HD DVD versions are absolutely fantastic and a night/day release over the SD DVD version. I don't have the $195 laying around to get the five discs at Xploited, so I may wait for the BD release. There is a comparison thread over at AVS with the two and it looks great.
