Default 'Coyote Ugly' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Coyote Ugly' has just been posted. If you read between the lines, he seems to be a fan of this campy cult fave. This Blu-ray delivers very nice video and decent audio, plus some supplements, many unintentionally hilarious. This one is a rental, unless you're a fan, then it's a must own.

Default Minor Actress Mix-up

The review stated that Bridget Moynahan was in MI:III, but that was Michelle Monaghan. Bridget Moynahan was in iRobot. Sorry, I'm a geek-boy with nothing better to do.

How could anyone in their right mind rate this higher than ID4? Anyone?

Bracke continues to confound me. (I think he's doing it on purpose)

Clearly Peter added a star each for Tyra Banks' two most prominent features.

I think Peter makes it quite clear in the review that he's expressing his very subjective opinion. I have this on SD and I believe it's one of the very worst movies I own, and I do own some stinkers. But hey, I enjoyed 'Armageddon' and 'Con Air' , so don't listen to me!

this is a guilty pleasure for me. I saw it in the theaters and own it on dvd. I loved piper perabo when i first saw her and have a friend who looks EXACTLY like her where she even gets stopped for autographs.

i even have a coyote ugly poster up in my apartment

will be looking forward to watching this next week

I agree. With all due respect to Peter, and to each his own, I dont know how Coyote Ugly (and believe me..the movie is just that, UGLY,imho) can be rated higher than ID4?? ID4 has some really cool next gen special features in there and the movie, to me, is leagues better than Ugly, imho. But....I respect Peter's views.

I plan on picking this up next week its a guilty pleasure of mine. At least the PQ is a four star transfer. With Piper Perabo, Bridget Moynahan, Maria Bello, and Tyra banks this is a no brainer at $20. As for ID4 I was never a big fan of the movie. I did rent the Blu-ray and the PQ was good.

Again people, this is a whole different genre than 'ID4' you can't compare the start rating for "the movie it's self". 'ID4' is a action/sci-fi movie this is a drama more than anything.

Besides isn't a review all opinion anyway? Just cause Peter (or any other reviewer) ranks it above (or below) another movie doesn't mean it's so.

Maybe Peter just like looking at the girls more than he likes looking at Will Smith , I'm a Will smith fan and I can't even blame him for that

I have to admit...big guilty pleasure of mine too. I remember the tag line from the marketing..."hottest day of the summer..." and then you would hear the howl of a coyote.
Piper Perabo is hot in this movie...one of the main reasons it is a guilty pleasure of mine. And I do own the unrated edition. :shrugs:

Doesn't anyone even know that "Coyote Ugly" is a descriptive term for a pickup that is so unattractive that you have to chew off your arm in the morning to avoid waking her? WTH does this movie have to do with that??

I could be wrong as it's been a long time since I've seen it, but I believe that "Coyote Ugly" is the name of the bar in the movie.
