Thumbs up 'Chicken Little' - High-Def Digest Review

If our last few reviews are any indication, Blu-ray is on a hot
streak. Peter's write up for 'Chicken Little' (out today) is another
positive one, with 4 (out of 5) stars for video, and 4.5 for video.
This one even boats a couple decent high-def exclusives.

This one really makes me question Bracke as a reviewer.

As a CGI title any haze or color issues would be straight from the source. If there were no codec issues then it was at the producer intended. It did not deserve a hit just because the reviewer doesn't agree with the colors used in the animation.

Amen bro ...Peter always knock the PQ on personal preference to his taste of color etc. I don't see how that is pertinent to the video transfer. In a CGI animation, if its a particular color, then its meant to be that way ...they are transferring it from a digital source.

Thanks for the review. I've been waiting for this ever since I saw clips in a promo reel at Best Buy.

Agreed, same thing was done to Casino Royale without good reason.

I have this on pre-order also and I notice that it looks very good demostrating the sharpmess of Blu-ray - typically the demos were done on XBR2's or Samsung ( same LCD screen ) and look outstanding.

Only thing I was disappointing about specs is that it did not have DTS tracks - especially since its a BD50.

Any idea what happened to the Alien Invasion shooter game that was supposed to have been included?

http://animated-views.com/2007/blu-r...-and-chickens/

On top of that, Disney’s really big announcement - and surely a sign of things to come with the release of Cars in the not-so-distant future, are the details supplied for Chicken Little on Blu-Ray Disc. 1080p video and uncompressed 48kHz, 16-bit 5.1 audio make up the technical specs. Most importantly - and no surprise to anyone who criticised the original DVD’s lack of meaty bonus features - the disc will include brand new extras created in high definition exclusively for this release, including The Alien Invasion Game, a one or two player interactive set-top game that lets you battle invading aliens by playing as your favorite characters from the movie. Hosted by Chicken Little, the game is programmed in Java allowing the player to control their character in real time, all within a seamless game experience that would not be possible on DVD. Another hi-def exclusive is the Filmmaker Q&A, a unique interactive in-movie experience that allows the viewer to ask filmmakers Mark Dindal and Randy Fullmer questions about the making of the movie as the flick unspools.
