I understand that completely. Take the Punisher for example, got decent marks for PQ here and I thought it looked terrible personally. I only look for some kind of heads up on ones I am unsure of since most of the time the reviews are spot on with how I feel with the occasional disagreement.

It really only matters for films that will be upgrades. Any new film that was just released on disc should be a no brainer Blu-ray purchase if its a worth owning film. I mean unless ofcourse they didn't by acident say copy the SD version onto a blu-ray disc and charge you $10 more. Otherwise the Blu version will be the best version available.

This week? Try every week for me. I try to never blind-buy any movies. Not even the $15 ones....

Reviews are more for Blind Buy & Catalogs but...

I don't think I've passed on a purchase (especially Catalogs) just because it got poor reviews. Take ME, MYSELF & IRENE, sure I had doubts but at the end I added it to my Collection.

After Night at the Museum received a 4/5 I take most of these reviews with a pinch of salt. I enjoy the quality of writing and find them a useful source for a pq and aq ratings, but that's it.

I also check the reviews strictly for P&Q. Most of the time they are pretty good but it is always some one elses opinion on something so its never guaranteed. I remember Rescue Dawn got a good review here and a lot of people said it was amazing...I am glad I rented it first, while it was good it is definitely not something I would watch over again.

I actually agree with that. Christian Bale is an amazing actor and I enjoyed the movie, but I'll probably never watch again. I'm glad I only rented it on DVD.
