I heard mixed reviews for it, particularly those that say the message of the movie is unbelievably right wing and pro christianity.

Exploding heads and 80s style action is all very well, but I could really do without the other crap.

I don't know about it being unbelievably right wing, and I didn t think it was overtly pro Christianity.

While Stallone obviously wanted to bring attention to Burma, he wasn t necessarily advocating a violent intervention, he just said that such people only respect the authority of the gun, i.e. have a peace keeping would be more effective than unarmed missionaries. You could also say that he advocated the locals to fight back, i.e. if you don't bring weapons you won t change anything, could mean bringing guns to the people.

As for the Christianity, I can t see it being an issue, unless Rambo coming to the missionaries aid and slaughtering hundreds of men= a divine miracle.

I realize that this is way to much thinking for such a shallow movie, but I m bored, sorry.

If anything the film was a message that blind faith isn't the answer, but giving the people the tools to fight back with.
It was also showing that those who live by the sword die by the sword.

I can't wait to go through that end sequence frame by frame.

Then you'd like Rambo. It's nothing like 2 and 3 and more like First Blood in tone.

If this is the case then I think we are all looking at a quad boxed set, and considering I dont own any of them in HD I will be all over that set if and when it comes out. Now all we need is the rocky series.

Where did you hear that? I saw this in the theaters, and I did not pick up on any right or left wing message, nor any kind of christian message. Unless someone's idea of being too pro-christian is having missionaries that don't turn out to be evil pedophiles....

Thumbs up Lionsgate!

Rambo 2 and 3 have list prices of $19.99 according to dvdempire. That means they will be like $13.99 on amazon...
Looks like Lionsgate is moving to MSRP of $19.99 on catalog titles. About time, I hope others follow suit.

DVDEmpire has a trilogy listed for $50 MSRP, thats $35 on amazon. Looks like you have to buy Rambo (4) separately.

Edit:

MSRP bumped from $40 to $50.
