Default 'No Country for Old Men' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'No Country for Old Men' has been posted. He's smitten with the film and says the magnificent Blu-ray edition boasts a striking video transfer and an excellent PCM audio track. This one is heartily recommended.

If its 4.6mbps PCM then it has to be 16-bit not 24-bit.

All SD features on such a major release? How unfortunate. Of course looks like a landmark film, it deserves an equally landmark feature set. I probably will rent first then buy.

Is the review not posted yet? Says it hasn't been reviewed.

Ohhhhh, there it is, goodie!

Anyone notice that the cover art has Tommy Lee Jones' name under Josh Brolin's picture? hehe Wonder if that will be fixed in the final release. This one sure racked up on Oscar night, can't wait to see this one when I get a BD player.

Wow. Damn I coupled this with I Am Legend for free shipping on Amazon. I Am Legend comes out a week later. Damn maybe I'll switch my order with the original novel so I can get it sooner.

No Country and There Will Be Blood are my top faves from last year. Now if only they'll release Lebowski on Blu.

Very nice. I already have this pre-ordered. Blind Buy for me. No worries here though. I haven't heard one bad thing about this movie and this spectacular review makes March 11th seem like years away. Can't wait.

It's not a mistake - plenty of movies have their covers like this. The names aren't organised based on whoever's picture is closest, and they sure aren't alphabetical, so God knows who chooses the order, really.

Examples:
Gone Baby Gone
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
The Rock

As for the movie, I'm not sure if I'll pick this up. There was a lot to like, but I would have liked it a lot more if:

Spoiler:
Moss went down in a blaze of glory (it's like an unwritten law that if you have to kill off a main character, he dies only after killing at least ten men and lives just long enough to say a few last words to someone close to him before giving a last breath and dying)
Carla Jean lived (I swear, it pisses me off that perhaps the most purest and innocent character in the movie gets killed in such a cold blooded manner)
Chigurh got taken down (seriously, he needs to DIE, friendo)
Tommy Lee Jones actually did something (besides spouting poetry and arriving at the gunfights three hours after they finish)
ditto for Carson Wells (they set up this huge subplot to make Carson Wells look like the only one who could equal Chigurh in skill, and then have him killed off not in a heroic gunfight, but pleading for his life)
the ending didn't suck (we want to see Chigurh get owned, NOT hear about some stupid dreams

Maybe that's what separates me from the aficionados. Laugh all you want, but I'm a Michael Bay fan through and through.
