Default 'Michael Clayton' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Michael Clayton' has been posted. He liked the movie and says this Blu-ray release does a good job transferring a difficult film for home viewing. While the audio and video tracks don't stand above other high-def titles, they're still faithful to the material and an improvement over the standard DVD. This one is recommended.

What is up with Warner's audio tracks? I hope this doesn't become a trend now that HD DVD is dead.

Looks like they wanted to fit it onto a BD25.

anxiously waiting this review... thanks guys! Anytime there is a noticeable improvement over the DVD I think it needs a separate rating category, as even if it is a poor quality BD, if it looks noticeably better than the DVD I will buy it (as long as I too like the film).

Been waiting for this review so thanks! I wasn't expecting much for PQ/AQ in this release but I'm disappointed to hear that the audio commentary is pretty boring, I was looking forward to listening to it.

Anyways, I will still be picking this up for the film, because it is one of the year's best

A really excellent film. The palpable build up which leads to the climax is quite a ride. This movie was in the top three movies that I've seen from 2007. (There Will Be Blood, No Country For Old Men, Michael Clayton). For those on the fence, I'd definitely recommend this one without hesitation.

Glad to see that you gave it a recommend. It's not one of the top notch transfers out there, but I found it to be pretty good. Audio and Video is important to me, but that was secondary to the movie itself in this case (to me). That said, there's still some really spiffy scenes that pop. I wasn't hesitating in owning this one, and it's a welcome addition in my collection.

I have to agree. I blind bought it last Saturday and saw it that night. Not a bad movie...just not what I was expecting. Kind of a snoozer, imho. The climatic ending was the best part...but it was too short. Wanted to see Tisdale(?) sweat it out a bit more. Honestly I did not see anything in this movie that was Oscar worthy, imho. Blanchett should have won Best Supporting Actress for portraying Bob Dylan, also imho.

Note even DD+. BD-25....I guess you gotta save money.

Is this the future for non-action Blu. I mean I dont need lossless audio, but a 1.5mb DD+ would be fair.

This is a critically acclaimed film.

Great film. Excellent writing and acting. I agree with Kenneth's review of the movie 100%.

Seeing Sydney Pollack as the amoral lawfirm boss reminded me of his role in Eyes Wide Shut.

I saw a screener of this movie, I thought it was great. It's too bad that they chose to shortchange the consumer with the regular 640k audio ....even HD DVD (usually about 30GB if my memory serves) usually included at least DD+ if not TrueHD

Great fucking film! I've been sitting on this one for a week, just got back into town Sunday, and watched it last night.

Wow, was I blown away! I do agree with Tilda Swinton's win, what a worm of a character. She was even made to gain a bunch of weight--no way does she look like that in real life.

Great performances all the way around, especially Clooney's. I still haven't seen There will be Blood,so I can't compare Lewis with Clooney--but am guessing Lewis' was an even bigger powerhouse since he won the oscar.

Anyways, get this film, and Warner Brothers--PLEASE RELEASE TRACKS IN DD+ and TRUE HD from now on. If you don't it will make it seem that your move to Blue was worthless. End of rant.
