'Rocky Balboa' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Rocky Balboa' is up. Noting the obvious parallels between Stallone's real life and his on-screen character, Peter found the film itself flawed but endearing. As a Blu-ray release, this one's quite solid, boasting a four (out of five) star grade for both audio and video, and a robust (if predictable) set of extras.

4/5 stars is pretty good. But apparently it's crap to most people on this forum as we have seen with the response to Casino Royale's review. But, once again , it seems that the PQ is dinged a little because of Peter's personal aesthetic tastes instead of it's faithfulness to the filmaker's vision which, I guess, is fair since he admits that he never caught it in its theatrical run.

i cant wait for this cause this was such a great story. I was surprised myself and although it being low action, i never felt bored.

i love the rocky series, but man i wish they were also on HD DVD, this and a couple more movies make me want to go neutral, but anyone who is a rocky fan should definelty get this, the editing is not like the older rocky's(which i liked) but still good.

I wouldn't go as far to say that I never felt bored, but it was an all right movie. It reminded me of the first Rocky movie. I'll probably pick it up.

yea i've always loved rocky and i really believe that sylvester stallones portrayal as rocky in the 6th film and the way he wanted to do it and the way he made it a very spiritual film was very sincere. i respect syvelster a lot more than i ever did after this film. i didnt really like how the ending fight was. i thought the screenplay for it was not good or the camera angles or the acting by anyone other than rocky. i also kinda wish that rockys theme song wasnt the song he had, i wish it was vintage rocky BUT, i enjoyed rocky 6 and i deff plan on getting it. great review!

again like American Psycho he gives it 3 out of 5 stars, which i think is wrong, is the movie perfect? no, but its a well acted somewhat emotional movie.

yes, this was a great movie and it was everything i hoped for. i loved how sylvester stallone honestly made this film the way that he knew it should be and not how the last 4 were. i think that rocky balboa was the best film in the series other than the oringinal. and good news for me is that i also have vertical limit, which got 4/5 stars for PQ on this site, but 10/10 points for PQ on dvdtown.com, which was the exact same score for this movie on both sites. and by the way, vertical limit looks near perfect, so hopefully rocky will too.

Anyone try this on a PS3? It locks up for me on chapter 6 every single time, it was a brand new copy as well. I even cleaned it and tried it a 3rd time, again, locked up.

Maybe your copy is bad, I had a Bad HD DVD Poseidon that lock up the 360, I took it back and work find. My Amazon copy of this movie should come tommorrow.
