Default 'We Own the Night' – High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'We Own the Night' is up. He was disappointed with the film, feeling it didn't give its great cast enough to work with. He says this Blu-ray is also a bit of a mixed bag, with a strong video transfer, but an underwhelming audio track and mix of supplements. He says this one might be worth checking out, but you'll want to think carefully before making a blind buy.

Proly a no-buy.

I got the film on Saturday. I don't know if it's because i'm playing a US disc on a UK ps3 or what, but i thought the video quality was more 3 stars than four. 80-90% of the film looks very sharp, but theres odd scenes here and there which don't just look soft, but look terrible. I'm talking less-than-DVD quality. Still, those scenes only account for about 10% of the film tops, and the rest looks quality.

I still have yet to decide on this, even after reading the review.

I agree with you on 'American Gangster' -- I definitely dug it more than Peter did. But that's why I love movies... different things register with different people. One guy's junk is another man's gold.

Thanks as always for posting!

Default Spoiler at the end!

Just finished watching the blu ray for the first time. I loved the movie and didn't realize is produced by wahlberg and pheonex until the credits. Great film though. For $25 its well worth the purchase, shoot it's only $5 more than the DVD.

Theres were some scenes that didn't look that great, but overall it looked good. Just wish we could have scene Eva's silver dollar nipple a little more

Def. a story of bros before hoes... literally

**SPOILER**
I was really hoping that Pheonex would pull out his dad's revolver and pop the old man in the head when he told him to get on his knees. But it didn't happen....

I agree with many of the posters here that it was a good movie. I liked it alot. However, I thought video quality was sub-par for a BD release.

You must not have seen it in theaters, and should probably take into account things like the original theatrical presentation before criticizing the transfer...

Yeah, a format's transfer is only as good as its source.

The car chase in this movie was very well done. The only bad thing I'd have to say about the movie is that some of the dialog and choices of the characters just didn't ring true with me.
