I only want a couple of these at most, but it's good to see them coming out.

Additional details:

Rounding out 2008, the 4th Quarter will see the debut of a new DVD Horror collection with titles featuring Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre and others, as well as more horror releases from Val Lewton and Joel Silver's Dark Castle label, re-promotion of Kubrick's The Shining and a number of new Raw Feed direct-to-DVD and Blu-ray titles, including Otis: Uncut. The 4th Quarter will also see a Warner Bros. Holiday Collection and A Christmas Story: Ultimate Collector's Edition.

Finally, studio reps revealed that 4 major catalog titles (The Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, Woodstock and North by Northwest) are all soon going on moratorium. The good news is, each will reappear in 2009 in day-and-date DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases, complete with stunning new high-definition restorations to celebrate their own individual anniversaries.

It'll look way better on Blu. So you can clear space on your DVR in Q3.

Actually, I'm really looking forward to seeing how 'Where the Wild Things Are' turns out to be as a movie. I remember growing up, that two of my favorite books before going to bed was always, 'Where the Wild Things Are' and 'In the Night Kitchen'.

Maurice Sendak always stirred my imagination when I was a child. I'll never forget those books. It will be really interesting seeing one of those books come to life on the screen, as opposed to my own imagination and the illustrations.

It doesn't hurt that my boy James Gandolfini is starring in it either.

Best Buy and Amazon.com on board with Warner? Hmmm, as bad as things are now for the other format, it's going to get MUCH WORSE later this year. No way in hell the other format can withstand the punishing blows to come.

Super excited about Batman Begins, one of MANY Warner titles I need on Blu-ray. I was hoping when I saw the article there'd also be word of The Matrix and/or V For Vendetta. Awesome news about Batman, though.
