Default 'Me, Myself & Irene' – High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Me, Myself & Irene' is up. He says the film isn't one of the best Farrelly Brothers comedies, but it's far better than their recent efforts, and powered by a go-for-broke Jim Carrey performance. This Blu-ray release is similarly unremarkable. This may be worth it for fans, but others should rent it first.

Don't expect much from those old postponed Fox releases. They are old encodes that were prepared to be released a year ago. I don't think that Fox has done anything with them since they postponed them last year.

Well at least they are releasing them...

Couple of funny parts but not enough to be a buy for me.

I'm probably going to be one of the few to pick this one up. I love me some Jim Carrey comedies!! Where the hell is Cable Guy!?!? I think that's Paramount though...

I'll be passing on this one. The movie was just underwhelming on the whole.

Not sure how Peter's classifying this movie as part of the Farrelly's "sophomore slump", however...one would think that after the success of Dumb & Dumber ($125 million domestically), Kingpin would have been their sophomore movie, earning less than $25 million at the box office.

Dumb & Dumber was their real breakout success...paving the way for the eventual triumph of There's Something About Mary. Here's hoping New Line gets it out on Blu before long...I'm dying to see the Rockies in HD (even if John Denver was full of s***).

The Cable Guy seems to be Sony/Columbia title.

I remember that this was one of the worst anamorphic transfers for a SD release back in the day.
It looked like a non anamorphic transfer run through a cheap upconverter with stair steps and alaising everywhere.

I'd love to hear from someone who had the original DVD to see if those problems are fixed.

Never thought that much of the movie itself. Pass.

I'm still surprised that this picture was given a go for Blu-ray before so many others. This film basically showed that the Farrelly brothers were comfortable enough to travel deep within gutter sewage.

I don't expect this film to be a hit on Blu-ray.

That just about sums it up.

I guess I'm the only person that likes this one better than Mary. I think it comes from really wanting to see Carrey unleashed in an R-rated comedy.

I'm with you. Honestly, I only like the first 10 minutes of There's Something About Mary.

With that said, I still haven't opened my copy. The review and price are something to think about. LOL

Wasn't Dumb and Dumber their breakout hit? I think that was their best movie over Something About Mary.
I vaguely remember seeing this movie when it came out and not being impressed. Think I'll pass.

I think Something About Mary makes my top 20 all time favorite comedies(#1 Wedding Crashers) forsure. They should be releasing that instead of this. I personally think the only funny scene was the vending machine scene.
And I do agree with Peter that Jim Carrey is awefully annoying in this one!
