I guess in some twisted way you could deduce that from my earlier post. However, that's not what I said, and that's not what I meant. But since you brought it up, how much native high-def 4:3 material do you think is available? Probably not much. I can't think of any.

A good majority of Japanese anime is made with the intention of a TV broadcast. Now factor in how much anime gets cranked out in Japan and then add to that the age of this series. I highly doubt the source material is true high-def. If it is, great. If not, I bet it will still look damn good. Not that I really care though. I won't be buying this release. Hopefully Netflix will have it though. I'd like to watch it once.

Now here's my criticism of your posts in this thread. Why are you trying to contradict everyone?

Casablanca and Robin Hood on HD DVD for one thing. Both have stunning transfers.

I'm not as knowledgeable on the way anime is created as I am in the way traditional movies are shot. Although I do know that many anime's were created with film (Wings of Honneamise) and can benefit greatly from a high-def transfer.

Oh I see, your one of those egotistical anime guys. The one's that don't like "outsiders" to have an opinion that differs. Like only you know anime and I couldn't possibly understand the concept.

Anyways, get used to it. If I see something that is posted by somebody that just doesn't add up I will say something. Not that I'm necessarily right all the time, but that doesn't mean I'm always wrong either.

IXinchnail was exclusively reffering to anime. It is highly unlikely that any digitally-produced anime in the 4:3 ratio was made in HD. Expecially not one that was made four years ago.

The Japanese Yukikaze release has been available for several days now. Posters at animeondvd.com have confirmed that this is an upconvert.

Here you go twisting things again. How could you possibly think this sentence "Now here's my criticism of your posts in this thread. Why are you trying to contradict everyone?" means "I am anime god and you don't know jack"? Seriously, how did you come up with that? My question doesn't even reference anime, yet I'm one of 'those' guys. All you're doing is proving my point. In EVERY single one of your posts you are trying to prove the other person wrong. Now who sounds like the egotistical anime guy?
