Default HTForum Warner Chat:

In short, this was said about HD content:

* Branagh's Hamlet is done, and will be out before the end of the Summer. In SD, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray.

* Warner doesn't know when their sister company New Line is releasing the LOTR films onto HD DVD/Blu-ray.

* LA Confidential coming on it's 10th Anniversary this year, also in HD DVD and Blu-ray.

* Deliverance is coming on SD, HD DVD and Blu-ray later this year.

* Poltergiest coming out on SD DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray this year.

* Blade Runner will have the same material as the SD DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray.

* Warner still has plans to release every HD DVD title onto Blu-ray.

* More Kubrick coming out on HD DVD and Blu-ray later this year.

* Heat coming to HD DVD and Blu-ray in 2008.

Lots of great titles will be coming on HD-DVD and Blu-Ray this year....and even more next year!

Fans can expect to hear about many more of our new DVD releases and HD-DVD/Blu-Ray releases in the next few weeks. We're sure fans will be very happy with a lot of the news.

I'm excited about Blade Runner, but in a way dissapointed that it will contain the same features on all formats. I love HD exclusive features and think this would have been a great title for the IME. Seeing the deleted or edited scenes as part of the commentary (including the ending) in PiP could have been interesting. Too bad, maybe next time.

Again, more crap in my opinion (other than Kubrick and a few other titles). I just don't understand the strategy these companies are using when they are releasing marginal sales boosters.

looking forward to Poltergeist. The source will be probably nothing to impressive but i am sure that it will be nice film to finally see in high definition.

Great stuff!

1) Let's hope the remaster for Blade Runner is as stunning as the visuals of this film. The cardboard boxed-DVD left a lot to be desired.

2) I hope Warner employs lossless audio for L.A. Confidential (if it weren't for Titanic, this definitely would have been the best picture of 1997). That firefight at the end and the shotgun blast in the elevator sound great on DVD (and that's at 384kbps Dolby Digital!) and would sound phenomenal in TrueHD/PCM respectivley.

Am I the only one who hopes "Hamlet" will end up on a 2 disc HD DVD set? I mean it's 4 hour movie for crying out loud.
