Default 'Ultimate Force' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'Ultimate Force' is up, and it's a doozy. He calls
the film itself unwatchable, and says that this Blu-ray release
doesn't fare much better, with video and audio that are severely limited by the source material, and extras that are equally underwelming.

doesn't surprise me much. I love Cro Cop as a fighter, but has anybody seen his post fight interviews? Who would have thought this guy could've made a movie? ... let alone a decent one.

Oh man, do I feel sorry for Peter. Going by his review, this movie sounds like quite the painful experience. 2.0 for an action flic, and on HD, is simply criminal.

I would rather watch a continuous loop of Cro Cop getting knocked out by Gabriel Gonzaga's roundhouse kick, then watch this pile of dung...

2 stars. Why do these studios release movie with such poor quality. I mean just because you can, doesn't mean you should

I picked this up for 10 bucks at Frys and I thought it was worth every penny. It really is ambitious, in a way, but also so bad as to be kind of surreal. The meat of the movie is a series of fights where Cro-cop marches silently around an island only to be confronted periodically by a bunch of bald guys who engage him in ultimate fighting challenges. I thought the complete lack of dialog was kind of a hoot, especially because, in the bonus features, Cro-cop chatters like a magpie.

Definitely the cheesiest, low rent movie to hit Blu-ray, but not a bad flick to put on for a bunch of guys after football, just to laugh and rip on, if nothing else, and some of the fights are pretty good. I admit, I'm an action whore though.

And yet, as bad as it is, it's STILL better than 'The Guardian'.
