Default 'Mr. Woodcock' – High-Def Digest Review

Just posted Kenneth's review of 'Mr. Woodcock.' He did not enjoy the film, calling it a paycheck comedy for Billy Bob Thornton and Sean William Scott. With Rotten Tomatoes giving the film a 14 percent fresh ranking, it seems critics are in agreement. This Blu-ray release has a nice video transfer, but lackluster audio and supplemental materials. All in all, you'll probably want to spend your time watching something more clever.

After trying this out on Good Luck Chuck, I'm done with buying shitty movies on Blu-ray for possible video demonstration material.

Definitely a pass from me on this one.

I'm only biased against bad movies.

As far as the movie rating goes, I've said it before and I'll say it again -- more than any other genre, a person's enjoyment of comedy really comes down to personal taste. I've laughed through crap like 'Balls of Fury,' so it's tough to pin down why a film like 'Mr. Woodcock' got stuck in my craw. But it did.

Thanks as always for posting! Remember to use the message boards to discuss your opinions of each movie and make your own recommendations to fellow readers. There will always be quite a few who disagree with our opinions -- take advantage of the platform and let us know what made the flick work for you!

I like Billy Bob and he's a great actor. But, for some reason, he keeps on playing the same a--hole characters over and over. Mind you, he does them well. But, at the same time, it gets tiresome to see him make crappy movies just for the paycheck. I watched "Mr Woodcock" last night, on SD, and it's one of those movies I would not go out of my way to watch again or recommend.

I watched this on pay-per-view the other night. Its basically the same role thorton has been playing for last 5 years, but if you liked his other movies you will probably like this too. I wouldnt buy this as a new release but if your a fan give it a rent or wait until it goes on sale.
