Default 'Daddy Day Camp' – High-Def Digest Review

Just posted Peter's review of 'Daddy Day Camp.' His opinion seems consistent with general critical opinion (Rotten Tomatoes shows a 1 percent fresh rating). This Blu-ray release might fit the bill for parents desperate for high definition kids programming, but this is an otherwise unremarkable presentation of an equally unremarkable film.

It's funny that nobody mentions that it was directed by Fred Savage. That's right, Wonder Years!

*EDIT* Just noticed it...MY B!

I think that's because everyone hates the movie so much, they don't give a shit about who directed it.

I'm sure plenty of people already knew he directed it. That's why a lot of people I know have lost a lot of respect for him as a person. I think that's quite ridiculous, but it is a pretty abysmal product he churned out...so I don't blame them

If I were a parent I'd just by the $5 DVD in a used bin or whatever and get myself Close Encounters of a Third Kind.

But then again, I did buy my 2 year old niece High School Musical 2 on Blu-Ray. Hee hee.

They are trying to milk this for all it's worth. Notice it's a single layer?

I saw Boyz N Da Hood last weeknd and I was reminded of what a good actor Cuba Gooding Jr. can be. It's a shame that he's been reduced to starring in movies like this, Snow Dog, and (shudder) Boat Trip.

Cuba, what happened? An Oscar caliber actor acting on this p.o.s. movie that Eddie Murphy most likely turned down. I hope Cuba gets a new agent soon before his career is completely over.
