They haven't quite announced a directors cut but I guess that is what they are trying to say.

I enjoyed the flick. The only thing that I didn't care for where the cgi "Infected". I thought they went a little over the top with the Infected. I would have liked it much better if they had casted real people in their parts.

Hopefully a directors cut will have a more climatic ending

I will be picking this up on Blu on Day 1. Loved the film. It was very well acted and although the infected were not as realistic as I would have liked I still thought they were a little scary. I am curious to see what the alternate ending will be.

Yea, picking this up without hesitation. Box office hits released on Blu get a blind buy unless I suspect a double dip.

I loved the film until the infected CGI parts. What amazes me is a film this big budget and in this year looks worse than Van Helsing. I fully agree, if you can't do the CGI right (like Gollum in LOTR) don't do it. The 28 days/months later series is scary and they use people...after all they were people...that got...INFECTED. Some of the plot with the infected got a bit silly for me too. Even him meeting the woman and boy and the happy ending.

The alternate ending sounds great at least. Maybe it is darker and more tragic. I truly would've liked it better if he was the last man on earth and tone remained somber and deep. He is a great actor and at least the first half of the movie I thought was awesome...when it became roger rabbity with live action and cartoons and a bit sappy with the child and mother...my opinion dropped off notably.

I think Empire magazine said it best

During the day I am Legend is a 4 star psychological insight into a man on the verge of going/being insane. During the night its a 2 star slasher/horror flick.

Thank god the majority was in the day!

Dam, It would've been nice if HD-DVD was completely gone from the picture so we won't be stuck with a low bit-rate VC-1 encode.

with you there. Can't see them using AVC anytime soon but apparently their going to start maxing out VC-1's and its actually cheaper as they dont have to tweak for HD-DVD.

I walked into the theater not expecting much except for an overhyped movie with a horrible plot. I was surprised, I enjoyed the movie thoroughly and would give it a 9/10 because I felt it was lacking a few details which made it confusing here and there. Hopefully the director's cut will include what it was missing.

I'm hoping Warner gives us 7.1 PCM uncompressed. The sound track in the theater was fantastic...that's why I went Blu so I can get the real audio on that extra 20GB. Puuuleeeese Warner, let it be!!
