Breaker Morant - Delayed
Just wondering if this title was really delayed? Or if anyone was able to find it today?

For anyone who listens to Opie and Anthony in the mornings, Jim Norton mentioned the movie in a joke today. I thought it was oddly ironic since it was supposed to be out today. I have never heard this movie referenced in anything before either.

Overlooked classic....
This is one of the better war films ever made IMO. Up there with gardens of Stone and In Harm's Way. I was bummed when i saw it was being delayed about a month. Hopefully the PQ and the like will be good.

PQ....bad
I love this movie....saw it years ago in when it was released in theaters. Fabulous film.
Tonight I got through two minutes of the movie I rented from Netflix. It's unwatchable. It's Dolby 2.0. At first I thought they sent the standard DVD. The PQ was terrible...aspect ratio is wrong. Very unfortunate.

Yeah, too bad.
I actually looked at the disc again this morning before I put it back in the Netflix envelope to make sure it was a BluRay disc. It is.
I think it has to be difficult making a good transfer of an older movie like that one.
However, if you look at the previews of 'Lawrence of Arabia' on HDNET Movies, it looks spectacular. That movie is roughly 45 years old.

How a film looks on HD often depends on how it looked originally. Both Mutiny on the Bounty and Gran Prix look incredible and they were shot in the 60's.
Mutiny was shot in Panavision I believe which shows a lot of detail. It's a disc I show people to give them an idea what Hi def can do.
