Default 'Steep' -- pre-release buzz

Sony has announced a March 18 release for 'Steep':

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/steep.html

A hit at the Tribeca film festival, this documentary look at Extreme Skiing should be tailored made for high-def, with its acclaimed photography and daredevil stunts.

No specs yet, but stay tuned.

Retail is $38.95.

Should be a good selling tool playing on demo models in Sony Stores.

I actually think I will buy this for my son. He is on the ski club at school. He loves it. Been doing this club for the last 4 years. I think this will be a good father/son viewing.

this sucks it's coming out at the end of ski season... would have excited me more if it came out before xmas. I bought picture this on hd dvd and was thinking about importing the one German HD DVD skiing/boarding HD DVD and i love seeing warner miller and Heli-skiing on HD theater and other channels on cable... Watching the skiing/snowboarding videos in high def rocks! oh well... will probially buy it in october/november when i'm getting hyped up about ski season.

I'd love to watch this. I'd probably get Planet Earth with it too.

$43.98 retail price (says in the main story), then it says 38.95 on this page. What's with that pricing anyway? They better start reducing the price of these movies now if they want the mainstream consumer to buy them, especially films that were not blockbusters.

It'll be in the high $20's in the store. Don't worry about it, man. At least it's not a barebones or catalog Fox title for that same price. These Apatow productions get loaded releases. I love them. Will pre-order this at DVD Planet and use part of the wealth of store credit I have there from trade-ins. Just gotta wait for them to put it up on the site!

Edit: They linked everyone reading the story about "Walk Hard" to this thread for "Steep". That's why you notice the price disparity between $43 and $38. LOL. People coming here to read about "Steep" on BD will wonder why the hell we are talking about "Walk Hard".
