Default '3:10 to Yuma' - High-Def Digest review

Josh's review of '3:10 to Yuma' is up. He enjoyed the film itself and gives this Blu-ray release strong marks all around.

Since I have yet to buy a Blu-ray player, I rented the SD off of Netflix. This is one of the best movies I have seen in a while. As soon as I get a player, this is the first title I will be picking up.

nice, I will getting this and Ratatouille soon, both are around $25 dollars at Future Shop, pretty good price for new releases!

I really enjoyed this movie. Filmed nicely with a good screenplay, acting and action. It bought back the best in traditional old school westerns. I'll agree with the PQ it was inconsistant, but still quite nice. Audio was dynamite. 7.1 the shootouts were awesome. My wife even like this Flick.

The best part was the price of $20.96 at Walmart. Let's get all new releases at that price point.

I am noticing a trend with Blu where you have to manually skip trailers when they start the disc. Didn't these trailers use to be relegated to the bottom of the special features section?

Very annoying but a small price to pay for such a great movie. I can't believe you only rated this one a 3.5...crazy talk for such a critically acclaimed movie.

And did I see you might have downrated the PQ because of "jaggies in the credits?" Umm..who cares about whats going on in the credits?

All in all, a fine review but I think you might have been a little heavy handed on such an excellent release.

Thumbs up

The absolute most fantastic soundtrack I've ever heard on a movie. This easily tops Master & Commander. I can't point finger on one thing in this mix. The gunshot duel at last, is out of this world. It's like Open Range multiplied with 5.

4.5-5? Nope, I'd throw in a 6! Bravo Lionsgate, bravo!!!

I agree, 4.5 or 5. PQ was excellent and the sound was magnificent. ben foster steals the show. crowe delivers big and we find out that bale is still not in his class. I like bale but it seems that crowe had ALL the screen presence when those 2 were together.

I popped this disc in last night and I was shocked at the insane amount of trailers it force fed me. Incredibly obnoxious and totally out of line in my opinion.

I agree about the ridiculous amount of trailers that are on the disc at startup. They are somewhat forced since you can't make a direct jump to the menu but at least you can skip each one as they popup.

Finally a reviewer with a decent pair of eyes for spotting artefacts. Keep up the good work Josh.
