We just posted Peter's Blu-ray review of 'The World's Fastest Indian.' Peter loves the film, and found this release from indie distributor Magnolia Pictures to be a winner, giving high marks to video, audio and supplements. Interestingly, this Blu-ray release differs slightly from its HD DVD counterpart, which we reviewed earlier. Magnolia opted to go MPEG-2 for Blu-ray, instead of VC-1 (which they used on the HD DVD).

I have no idea how this flick could get a 4 for PQ? It was so grainy that it was impossible to ignore. I just got this movie along with Casino Royale and Big Fish and the absolutely best looking of the bunch was Casino Royale, this is how I would rate them PQ wise:
Casino Royale: 4.5 Big Fish: 4 Worlds Fastest Indian: 2.5 This only proves that we all have diverse taste and look for different things when we rate the quality of a movie. I have been purchasing movies blindly based on the reviews on this site, but after Sleepy Hollow (witch in my book was even worse) and Worlds Fastest Indian I am of course going to be more cautious. |
