Default 'The Descent' - High-Def Digest Review

By popular demand, we've finally posted Peter's review of 'The Descent' on Blu-ray (the title first hit stores in late December). This one is yet another rave, earning near-perfect scores for both video and audio. The HD-exclusive "Underground Experience" video commentary is the icing on the cake.

Yes, one of Lionsgate's better offerings.

My score card.

HD Audio Dolby Digital - 8/10

I'm starting to really appreciate Lionsgate now. They always release high quality discs. They know what their doing!

Now, if only Fox would learn from them...

Lionsgate isn't always good, Stargate was awful. Near VHS quality at times.

Really? I'd have to check that out.

Peter gave it a 4/5 in PQ in his review.

I agree this is the best bluray I own (until Kill Bill comes out).. and one of the scariest movies I've evern seen. Lionsgate did a great job. Now they need to release Hard Candy on bluray.

in parts, the movie looked like trash (dark scenes) but then the outdoor, desert scenes were like SOOOO sharp

This one won't play on my Sony BDP-S1!

Press play and it simply sticks in play mode without actually playing the movie.

I think I actually remember reading something about this on the blu ray forums over at avs and there was a downloadable firmware upgrade to fix the problem players experienced with this disc. Hope that helps.

Rented this movie last night, and it was an amazing film. Very scary and very fun. The sound was mind blowing.

That sucks! That is the best movie. I have yet to try my copy yet but I was not expecting any issues on the PS3. I hope. Maybe I should try it soon.
