See this is the reason that we didn't have Batman Begins on blu-ray, because Sony had not gotten their act together on their technology. Hooray for blu-ray winning.

I can't wait to finally be able to swap out my Batman Begins and Matrix Trilogy HD DVDs for their BD counterparts! I hope they utilize Blu's higher bitrate this time around It would also be nice to see a 300 re-issue with the Blue Screen PiP added in!

Well, I seriously doubt that the first Warner 1.1 will be The Matrix Trilogy or Batman Begins. I wish it would be either one of these titles but, lets face it, Warner will probably give us something like Charlie And The Chocolate Factory....

Any word on what the "kinks" are and how (or if) they are testing it on various models of players?

"We held off releasing them on Blu-ray because we wanted to be able to have the full interactivity," said Tsujishara. "At this point in time, we're still working out all the kinks [with the technology], but they will be released soon."

I'm surprised they didn't release at least a few of the 1.1 titles before going exclusive to test the waters. But hopefully they'll start working on 2.0 titles soon.

I feel exactly the same way as far as using higher bitrates. These will be absolutely huge sellers on Blu!

It will be good to see these back titles on Blu-ray and I hope they release all of the Batman movies on Blu-ray.

Nice. I'm ready to buy both as soon as they're available.

I doubt they will do re-encodes but we will see. I remember seeing insiders saying that they spent so much time on The Matrix hand tweaking it that they wouldn't want waste that money/time. Batman Begins maybe though..

I didn't have any doubt these were coming, but I'm glad to see some confirmation to know that they're in the forefront.

I'm curious as to how long it'll be before we see something like a 300 reissue, as they obviously have enough unpublished / new titles coming out to keep them busy for a while.

It'll be interesting to see how committed Warner is to Blu-ray. I'd think that they'd want to do a re-encode to up the bitrate for all of their Blu fans. Then again, considering their past track record, they'll probably keep the same encode for the Blu releases.

I've enjoyed watching Batman Begins on HD DVD for the past 6 months or so. Funny how the "inferior" technology had all these extras a long time ago.

What about their classics like Casablanca, Robin Hood, Mutiny On The Bounty & Grand Prix??
Will they ever be available in Blu-Ray??

Cheers

This is absolutely great news. I look forward to purchasing those titles. You know what they say... "Better late than never".
