Default Sony Music Announces 'Destiny's Child: Live in Atlanta'

Don't know if there are any Destiny's Child fans in the house:

But this is good news. We need more high-profile, commercial music releases on Blu-ray.

I hope so too cause I cant stand DC. I would like to something like Micheal Jackson, or U2 (have the Blu-ray U2 release but its from 1988) or Beastie Boys. Just something huge and colorful and extravegant

There are four announced titles so far and they have a website designated to Sony BMG Blu-ray releases.
It can be found here.

I'd love to see Anastacia's 'Live at Last' concert go to Blu-Ray. I saw it on HD1 (European channel) once and it looked superb. The standard def DVD only features PCM stereo so let's hope that if it goes Blu-Ray, they add some 5.1 audio.

Default Bought it and watched it tonight!

Wow, it's superb

My wife and I sat in front of the TV for the whole concert, even she is not a fan of Destiny's Child

Incubus is also a 24/48 PCM track, the others are 16/48.

Hopefully Sony Pictures takes a peek at the Incubus one and chooses 24-bit for Spiderman too.

The Concert in Central Park by Dave Matthews Band is the one I'm really looking forward to.
I was there 09.24.03 and it was an awesome show. I was about 40ft infront of Boyd Tinsley. Great setlist, great performace guesting by Warren Haynes and a 3+ hour long performance by the boys.
The DMB fanbase is incredibly rabid and you can be assured that DMB on Blu-ray will bring Blu-ray into a lot of people's homes or at least into their future purchases.
The stereo track on the DVD-V is 24/48 PCM, so no doubt the new Blu-ray release would contain an LPCM 24/48 5.1 track. Delish. Plus the video quality of the SD DVD is pretty stunning already. It's begging for an HD release.

Looks like I may have to get a PS3 sooner than expected. I will pretty much have to have the Incubus and Foo Fighters.
