Resident Evil Extinction Freeze Ups
Has anybody had any problems with freeze ups? It does'nt happen at the same place twice.I cleaned the disc and it froze at a different place.Thought maybe the player needed an update but Panasonic said it did'nt at this time. This is the only disc I have had problems with.

Not that it should matter but did you get the Trilogy or the single release?

I have the single and am watching it on a BD30.I called Panasonic yesterday and was told my player did'nt need any updates at this time.I just think it is weird that it freezes for 2 or 3 seconds at diff locations each time you watch it.I only have 1080i and am watching it through DVI connection.

My Player is pretty fast about loading but it is also slower when loading this disc.I don't have the receipt but I am calling Wal-mart today and seeing if I can exchange it for another copy.Maybe the guy I spoke to at Panasonic was wrong,it could need updated.

No problems on my BD30, and I've watched every piece of content on the disc.
Note that regardless of what Panasonic may have told you on the phone, the player has had a couple of recent firmware updates. The latest is v1.3. There are instructions for checking your firmware and downloading the latest version here:
http://panasonic.jp/support/global/c...bd30/bd30.html
There seems to be a disconnect between the North American and the Global divisions of Panasonic. The North American web site references no firmware updates and their phone reps have no idea what you're talking about, but the Global web site has been updated with 2 firmwares so far that are specifically marked as being for North American players. I've installed the 1.3 firmware and it works fine.Josh Z
