The Island is another movie I want badly on BD. Anything in high def with Scarlett Johanson would give me a hard on. I better watch The Prestige on BD by myself next week.

Well, I'm afraid it will be bad news for the US release.

Dreamworks handled the US DVD release, while Warners handled it here in the UK. AFAIK Dreamworks have yet to enter the hidef area with any releases, so you are in for a wait.

Just pray that the UK version is region free

Certainly doesn't appear to have been released in the UK at least, all of the sites don't have it.

However, Amazon France have it down with boxart, which seems more credible.

Must say the French artwork is better, but the Spainish one will no doubt be the same for the UK (as it has a Warners logo on the side).

Dreamworks is doing Blu-ray now - at least one - so hope is not gone.

Actually Dreamworks is responsible for both Dreamgirls and Flags of Our Fathers on BOTH formats. But they are getting into the game a little slower.

Yea I know they are neutral but this is Blu-ray section - truefully it only matters if its on Blu-ray to me. I do have on UMD format however so I know it will eventually be on Blu-ray.

My point is not to talk about one format or the other, but that Dreamworks IS releasing in next-gen, so the Island is not as unreasonable as some people have posted.
