Default 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' - High-Def Digest review

Kenneth's review of 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' is up. He says this Blu-ray edition of the flick blows both standard-def DVD editions of the film out of the water with a gorgeous video transfer and a sublime DTS HD MA track.

I really want the Blu-Ray version but thanks to Fox still no Unrated version.

How come Disney can put The Director's cut and unreated version of Bad Santa on 1 disc but not Fox. We are already paying a premium price.

Thanks for the review, I will definitely buy Mr. and Mrs. Smith up friday. Too bad Liman decided to go with that awful ending, could have been a great movie.

Yeah same here?!? And He talked about alot of people not liking it, as kind of a love/hate relationship, to be honest I've never met anyone that hated it, and I remember it getting good reviews......... Why is he making this movie such an underdog

Is the Directors Cut a much improved version of the film? Or is this worth buying as it is?

I love this film. The on-screen chemistry was so good, it became real. Pitt and Jolie fell in love during the making of it. This film has everything. Action, drama, and a good dose of comedy.

I was waiting for a price drop of the dvd to get the unrated cut. But, I couldn't pass up the Best Buy bogo (got Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Crank for $35+ tax). I'm sure it will be double dipped in early 09...but I can't wait that long.

Default Double dipping..

In regards to double dipping. Is any one aware of a movie that was double dipped, excluding discs that were re-released for technical purposes?

The sex scene is a lot hotter in the Unrated version.

The only HDM double dipped so far is Full Metal Jacket.

Unfortunately it's true. Just scan the reviews for the film on Rotten Tomatoes:

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/mr_and_mrs_smith/

A lackluster 59% rating (a 43% rating from the "Cream of the Crop" critics), plenty of comments about the stars' chemistry (if you click through and read their reviews), the debatable self referential "smuggness" of their performances, and a bunch of love/hate back-and-forth with the film. Sadly, it seems the film was targeted by some for its celebrity rather than being evaluated as a piece of entertainment.

Hope that helps clarify things. Thanks as always for posting!
