Default Sony: The Adventures of Baron Munchausen coming April 8

From Blu-ray.com:
Quote:
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring 'The Adventures of Baron Munchausen' to Blu-ray on April 8th. Specs have not yet been announced for this title, but extras include an audio commentary track, two featurettes, two storyboard sequences, and deleted scenes. Exclusive to this Blu-ray release is a "Graphics and Picture Track".

Director Terry Gilliam (Brazil) and an all-star cast including John Neville, Eric Idle, Oliver Reedand Uma Thurman deliver this tale of the enchanting adventures of Baron von Munchausen on his journey to save a town from defeat. Being swallowed by a giant sea-monster, a trip to the moon, a dance with Venus and an escape from the Grim Reaper are only some of the improbable adventures.
This is awesome news, for me at least. Baron Munchausen is easily one of my all-time favorites, and now it's coming to Blu-ray. Soooooo sweet.

Agreed. I would like to see the Criterion features from the old LD but they own their suplements so if Sony is releasing this that prolly wont happen...maybe a newly recorded commentary?

Very nice. The DVD is garbage. I'd love a nice High-Def remaster.

Awesome news, great movie, the dvd is terrible. Nice to see an older film scheduled, maybe now Sony might get Lawrence of Arabia done, or Oliver! or Funny Girl, Bridge on the Rivew Kwai, ect.

Different studios. Universal owns Brazil, so any release of that would be HD DVD exclusive. I expect we'll see it eventually on that format, since Universal is pretty aggressive in cranking out (post-1980) catalog titles.
