Default 'Potter' Giftset Inadvertantly Goes Purple

This one's been making the rounds for about a day now:
http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/1261

Quote:
An apparent manufacturing mixup has some early adopters crying foul after an HD DVD edition of 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' was discovered in some Blu-ray editions of Warner's 'Harry Potter Years 1-5 Giftset.'

Although the problem doesn't appear to be widespread, consumers who've picked up the set from various retailers have reported the same issue on threads at AVSForum and Blu-ray.com.

Those affected say the disc is labeled as an HD DVD and indeed will not play on Blu-ray players.

Warner has yet to issue an official comment on the apparent snafu, but we'll pass along any further information as it comes in.

Just more proof that supporting purple is the best choice

So anyone else think that WB is sending a message with Potter

Very glad to say that I got a "pure blood" set (all Blu )

Is this Warners way to dump the HD-DVD discs they couldn't sell Or is this what they meant with their TotalHD sets

LMAO.

Guys unless you have a dual-format player an HD DVD disc will never play in a BD player.

Oh!!!!....I go it. They were thinking about a wrong label, sorry guys.

And Warner if you really want to Jump, just do it once and for all please, don't play with people's mind like that.

so is this further proof of warner going hddvd? haha a taste of things to come for blu ray folk...
or is this further proof of warner going blu ray? showing blu ray folks that the discs are the same manufacturing wise...

haha it's still funny though.
if I bought hddvd HP giftset and it had blu ray discs instead, i would think negative and say warner going blu ray...but I'm a pessimist.

LOL, I love that they say an "apparent" mixup. So it may really be what I think...an attempt from some Reds to halt sales of the Blu set by sabotaging it so they can win one week.
