Default 'Stranger Than Fiction' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Stranger Than Fiction' makes me want to go out and get the film on Blu-ray. He raves about the film itself, which was largely overlooked at the box office, and gives both the video and the audio solid marks. Is it your new demo disc? No. But sounds like a fun change of pace from all the recent catalogue titles...

Holy crap! I remember seeing commericals about this movie and I really wanted to see it, but then I totally forgot about it. Must be because it was not very successful at the box office.

This will certainly be the next Blu-ray I get!

This will be a blind buy for me as well. Got decent reviews at rottentomatoes.com.

Thumbs up

I thought this was a decent movie also, although it's not your typical Will Farrell movie but anyone who was any interest in this movie will know that.

I don't know about the transfer yet, but as to the movie itself, I personally would classify it as a must see. I loved it in the theatres. Good story, good acting (and not just from Will Ferrel either, also from Emma Thompson and Queen Latifah).

I did not lie. I just came back from Best Buy with my copy. This is the first HD film on either format that I have actually spent money on. All my other discs were results of trades and gifts.

Hey, did you guys notice that after the opening Blu-ray promo on this disc that there are some movies listed as coming soon to Blu-ray that have not been officially announced?

Bad Boys 2 and Spider-Man 2 are listed there and those movies do not appear in High-Def Digest's handy Blu-ray release list. Of course their prequels are listed in the release list, but I am being super anal today.

The first Charlie's Angels film is on the list but it is not on any of our lists.

Lawrence of Arabia and Kung Fu Hustle are also not any of our lists at High-Def Digest.

I enjoyed the film immensely, and the transfer was wonderful also. Fun, different little movie. Ferrel was really good also.
