Default 'High School Musical 2' - High-Def Digest review

Peter’s review of 'High School Musical 2' is up. Although this Blu-ray edition delivers very strong video and solid audio, he says the film itself lacks much of the freshness and spontaneity of the original. A relatively slim supplements package doesn’t help matters, but here’s betting that won’t hurt this one with its target audience.

God do I hate this movie and the first one.

But my 10 year old sister loves it so I might get her it for Christmas.

Jeez now I'm worried the audio in the first will be crap when it comes out on BR.

Well at least "Get Ya Head In the Game" will be in Lossless.

Can't wait to grab this one tomorrow. It'll be in the player before any of the Potter flicks since my my two daughters and my wife want to see it.

One error in Peter's review....he mentioned this is the first time any HSM movie was presented in widescreen. Actually this is false as DirecTV actually ran a HD special on channel 101 when HSM 2 was released. I have it recorded on my HR20 as my daughter loves both movies and replays it every once in a while.

Maybe he meant the first one done in WS, the first was the horrible FS edition. The third, the Halloween, the Christmas and the other HSM movies will all be done in WS.

The song is catchy, What is it?

I feel kind of lame admitting that I've paid so much attention to this, but I'm wondering if the Blu-ray version has the same audio sync problem as the direcTV broadcast seemed to.

I'm not talking about bad lip-syncing (which is par for the course), but on the recordings that I've seen, the first three songs in the film don't sync up well. ie the lips don't match the lyrics because the audio is half a second too early, as opposed to the actors just sucking. I've seen the SD and HD version of this, so I'm thinking it was a problem with the source.

I could be completely off base here since I didn't see the _actual_ broadcast. I guess it also could just be lazy production.

Any comments on this?

Ryne Sanborn who played Jason. I also had a friend who was a dancer in the movie named Brady.
