Default 'American Psycho' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'American Psycho' is up. This one gets mixed marks all around. Its journey to the screen sounds more interesting than the movie itself, while the Blu-ray video and audio are only decent

how do you give this movie 3 out of 5 stars? This movie is good, and Bale is great in it.

Man Blu-ray's reveiws are almost always negative......looks bad on them....whats the point if you have more exclusives if they are double dippers!..no one wants that. Sony is selling out there own fans buy allowing this kind of crap to happen, HD DVD may be the lesser technology but, at least there seems to be a standard of quality most of the time. Sony , and Lionsgate should be ashamed!

i wouldn't trust this review since they thought the movie itself was not good.

I know. Personally I would never rate the piece of trash that high.

Of course, opinions are like, elbows right? Peter also disliked Reservoir Dogs, which I don't agree with at all... but American Psycho, I wanted my seven bucks back.

It's a shame about the transfer as personally I love this movie.

No worries. I pre-ordered this title (I'm a huge fan of this movie as well) and I'm pleased to report that, while there are the blemishes in the source mentioned in the review (including odd fading here and there) it's still a GREAT upgrade from the DVD and a killer looking picture. In fact, some scenes are absoutely stunning (check out the 'shooting spree' sequence from the ATM/cat scene on.... really tricky rapid-fire environment changes, and this transfer handles it much better then the previous edition... it's really eye popping.) Since I doubt this (severely) underrated film will ever get a genuine "criterion edition" type transfer, this is probably as much as a fan could hope for. If you love the movie, you'll love the Bluray version... just don't expect a transfer on the level of, oh, say "Scooby Doo". But expect a very nice upgrade from the DVD.

You seam to like the trolling. You don't provide any links and have nothing positive to say. You have a smackdown area, use it.

Love this movie, one that really tipped the scales for me to get a BD player in the first place. I'm pretty pleased with it overall, I second what kayoss had to say.

I would add inconsistent is the only negative. The opening sequence is as crisp as I have seen anything in HD, and many other shots look stunning, there are some sequences and segments that stand out as worse. A huge upgrade from previous editions.
