Fox Confirms 'ID4' Blu-ray Delay

Citing quality control issues, Fox has delayed the release of one of the biggest guns in its Q4 Blu-ray arsenal, 'Independence Day.'

The 1996 blockbuster had been due to hit high-def on December 4, but Fox has now confirmed earlier retailer reports that 'ID4' has been delayed.

Total BS, Fox's QC is non existent as evident in their nonability to not test that their discs works on all the players before releasing a title. They should just drop out of HD content and return in a couple of years.

Oh well, it's one of those things, better to have a superb edition in the spring...if they are remastering some of it, great, the better the release. Patience is all it takes. Meanwhile, they've been showing it in hd on Cinemax HD lately, wow is all I can say, but I want it with 1080p/DTS Master! Threaders: Get ready for the "I hate Fox" posters and hd-dvd guys.

I was looking forward to getting this on Tuesday, but we also have Pirates, Castaway and Mr and Mrs. Smith and Superbad, so I can save some money for other holiday responsibilities, hehe.

If this is the real reason they delayed it, i for one respect them. Its better than putting out udder @#$@ and expecting the consumers to just live with it.

The fact that this happened, and the whole 5th element re-issue/swap thing, makes me wonder if sony or someone isn't clamping down with bluray to try to stop any follies from happening?

Fox has been an embarassment and a joke from day one. As I have said before, Fox should not announce a street date until they are damn well sure they can meet it.

have you even watched any Fox Blu rays? They're fantastic, so what if they don't want to release it yet, get it right then release rather than having movies that won't play. It's called learning from your mistakes.

I refuse to comment any further on this. I will just suck it up and wait. I've waited on delayed video games so a movie will be no problem. As I said befor I got the S-DVD and they can't take that away.

I have FFROSS, didn't play, needed firmware. Live Free or Die hard, didn't play, needed firware. Thats my point exactly, I didn't say anything about the quailty of the transfers did I. Evidently they haven't learned from their mistakes.
