Default 'Justice League: New Frontier' -- pre-release buzz

Warner Premiere and DC Comics have announced their first-ever high-def release, Justice League: The New Frontier:

It's hitting Blu-ray, HD DVD and standard DVD day-and-date on February 26, 2008.

Specs include 1080p video and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio (though Warner may add to these specs in the future).

Extras are extensive, with two audio commentaries, two documentaries, and three bonus episodes of 'Justice League.'

Retail is $34.95 each.

Meh....my son was a fan of the cartoon on CN. Maybe if he wants it....maybe I would consider it. There is a difference between cartoons and the cgi animated kind, imho. I prefer the latter.

Cool. I'll buy it if its good. These things are usually kind of hit or miss though. For example, I love the first Ultimated Avengers but thought Dr. Strange was whack. (yes, I know we're talking different studios/production companies)

To bad BD doesn't have a combo format so the kids can watch it on their tv or in the car.

I'm tempted just to see how animation like this holds up in HD...

I hope this one is good. The first DC "direct to vid" Superman: Doomsday was absolutely horrible.

Blu-ray not having a combo format is an advantage in my eyes.

Interesting the specs listed in the news story don't say anything about the Dolby True track, yet the disc back has it. Thanks for posting the back cover, I was disappointed for lack of uncompressed track until now.

I saw this a few weeks ago and it's not bad .It's pretty political though .
It was nice to see the Flash,Green Lantern and Wonderwoman get some limelight .
Superman for once wasn't the primary character and I really liked how they depicted Batman..
