Just when you think you've got him pegged as an art movie snob, Peter Bracke goes and gives 'Beerfest' a positive review... kind of. He admits it's not a great movie, but he also says he found it quite funny. As a Blu-ray release, this one also impressed, earning 3.5 stars (out of 5) for video, and a solid 4 stars for audio.

I loved Beerfest....
I totally admit, like Peter, that it's a "guilty pleasure" film. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea... or "bottle of beer", as it were. Nothing wrong with guilty pleasures, either. Without 'em, I wouldn't have such "gems" as Shakes the Clown and Very Bad Things in my collection. ![]() |

I don't get it...how can the HD DVD version get better star ratings in the individual categories, yet the Blu-ray version gets a higher overall rating?
