Default 'Transformers: The Movie' (1986) - High-Def Digest review

Just posted Josh's latest review, for the UK Blu-ray release of the 1986 full-length animated film, 'Transformers: The Movie.' Anyone who's seen the film can likely guess that this one won't be high-def demo material, but if you happen to be a die-hard fan (as Josh is), he says this one's more than worth importing.

Full review here:

What????? Shouldn't it be either "Worh a look" or "For Fans only"? I honesly don't think that makes much since.

I don't think Neflix does imports. Hey is this region FREE? Is Bruce Almighty region FREE too? We need a review of Bruce Almightytoo. I remember this is a cooll show from the mid 80's. It had a lot of good actors doing the voices.

I had fun with this review. Very Nice JZ.

Honestly, the Film studios should let go of the Transformers nostalgia and make some good 3D Cartoons of the giant robots. I would like to see Transformers with new soundtracks and new Animation techniques. Something like Beowulf and TMNT.

I'll just wait for Sony to release it stateside. It's absolutely mindboggling how stupid they've been with the rights to the series since Rhino lost it. Could have re-released the series on dvd around the same time the movie hit, but no, that would make TOO MUCH SENSE.

That field in the review is free-form, FYI. There is no required standardization to what gets written in the "Bottom Line". It's up to the reviewer.

According to Josh, no region code is listed on the box, but apparently it works fine in American BD players.

I have no idea what you mean about Bruce Almighty. Bruce Almighty was released on HD DVD (region-free) and has already been reviewed by Peter Bracke.

LOL the reviewer here can't be more wrong.. again...

I got all the version of TF, internationally and Locally

The Worst version are : Seville Release and the new Sony Release (AWFUL DON'T TOUCH THAT CRAP)

The Best version : Rhino Full (for Full version), Metrodome DVD and Blu-Ray

The best version for the sound is Metrodome BluRay, the DTS add quality back into the music, but it still sound like a stereo remaster.

ALL DVD version have problems with Macroblocking in every flashing scene you can count and there's a lot. There's no Macroblock in the BluRay verison that i could saw.

All DVD version have Aliasing on black lines and Black Outline Compression. The BluRay version have none of this.

In fact, the bluray vresion is so perfect that now you can see all the dust between layer of Mica Cels.

I watched most of the Old TF TV Serie and that bluRay is a must if you know the serie. I actually prefer the 80's catchy song (and Weird'Al for that matter) and easy humour of that animated movie than the new one, the new one was screwed by the Military being to much present, discovering in 2 sec how to destroy them and that stupid Sector 5 thingy going on

Everyone has their own opinions. That's what reviews are for. He certainly isn't forcing his view on anyone, he's just letting people know what he thinks, not what popular opinion thinks.

Nothing you've posted in any way contradicts what was written in the review. What did you find wrong about the review?
