Default 'Ratatouille' - High-Def Digest review

Some thought they'd never see the day, but after 527 reviews for this site, Peter Bracke has finally given his very first five-star overall rating... to the Blu-ray edition of 'Ratatouille.'

Likewise, the encode looks perfect, with no pixelization, macroblocking or banding/posteriztion.
Must be my TV then cause there was a lot of banding during the fog scene.

It's not just you there's banding there. But it is definatly one of the top HD releases ever. Now BD AND HD have a 5 star overall movie which is great. BD has Ratatouille and HD has Hot Fuzz. Both completely different movies and both GREAT movies.

He's referring to Peter Bracke, the specific reviewer to give his own first 5 star disc.

I get the feeling this one isn't considering Ratatouille has not finished its run in theatres internationally.

Excellent! Our first 5 star! I knew it!

And there is absolutely no banding in the fog scene. Maybe you're seeing some of the halo effect from the street lamps. Or, yes, maybe it's just your TV.

The results of the High-Def Digest poll taken a couple months ago as to what would be the first 5 star Blu-ray disc were correct. The winner was clearly RATATOUILLE. So glad that Disney/Pixar have embraced the Blu-ray format with such conviction. This is an absolutely incredible visual and audio experience.
