Default 'Mr. Brooks' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'Mr. Brooks' is up. He was surprised by how much he liked this film, and says this Blu-ray is a good (but not great) package.

Damn Fox, another release with less than stellar video quality...why can't they be more consistent?

Btw JED, there's no link to this discussion post on the review page.. Cheers.

I thought that the movie looked great. I don't really care for Dane Cook, but the transfer to my eye looked four star worthy.

I agree with Chris. I was expecting the review to give an easy 4-star video rating when I first saw it. *Shrugs* Hmph...

I agree with the review but I also think the picture could have received a 4 star rating. Good work overall.

i bought and watched this movie yesterday and i thought it was great! i've always sorta disliked kevin costner but after this movie, i can say that i definetly like him now, he was perfect for the role. william hurt was great as the devil on the shoulder, and dane cook played a great scumbag and made his last scene so enjoyable.

i've read several things that say that this is the first film of a trilogy and that kevin coster, william hurt, and demi moore are all signed on for it.

i hope this is true, i can't wait!!!!

i loved how he was addicted to serial killing and how he tried to stop, i thought it was a very clever film, and i hope the dream he has about his daughter doesnt turn into reality, that'd be a little too much for me.

great movie overall, definetly should have got more than 55% on rt.

*** best quote of the film:

"Before I was the Thumbprint Killer, Mr. Smith, I killed a lot of people in a lot of different ways"

What a coincidence, I just saw this film about 20 minutes ago. I was actually expecting the movie to be worse, but it wasn't half bad. Also, the quality wasn't bad either, not the best, but not horrible.

I won't debate the "movie itself" rating, as that is very subjective, but I thought it was a 4/5 video transfer.

Clearly the best Kevin Costner movie in a long, long time. Also, best Demi Moore movie in a long time. Really enjoyed this! And, the video transfer is def. great. Not sure why it wouldn't get a 5??

i love this movie and its my favorite kevin costner movie. i would of given the pq 4.5, the sharpness and how clear it was was a 5/5 but the colors werent perfect in my mind, a little more saturation and i wouldve said perfect 5 but still very very good.

OMG

I just saw this movie on BD.

BEST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN THIS YEAR. AND I HAVE SEEN THEM ALL. (inc DK)

I have to disagree 100% with the HDD review. This movie not only had an ending, it had the most fantastic ending I can remember seeing in any movie in the past 5 year.

I LOVED IT

GOD IT WAS SO GOOD.
