Default 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl' -- pre-release buzz

'Curse of the Black Pearl' finally gets a date:

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...-ray_Dates/448

Certainly should be a huge seller on Blu-ray, with 'Dead Man's Chest' its only competition...

Yarrrrr. I be fully aboard for the impending release of this fine film of sea-fearing adventure. Now if I can just find a scurvy dog to take the DVD version of this film off me curs-ed hands.

(I wish we had a pirate emoticon.)

I'm glad these are coming out soon. I've wanted to see the sequel but refused to watch the SD DVD. I have no desire to watch the DVD version of any movies any more. I will definitely buy these on BD.

Think maybe disney will start to use lossless compressed audio instead of uncompressed?

Speaking of which, anybody hear how far they are coming on the Dolby TrueHD on blu-ray. I read they were having trouble with it.

While I dont have the ability to listen the the uncompressed PCM, I really enjoy the DTS Master Core that is on some of the FOX disks. It sounds amazing and it works over optical. I have some slight pausing problems on my A-1 when I listen to the TrueHD track and I must use the analogs. I must say that I prefer the DTS Master. This way it sounds good now over optical and I have something to look forward to later without loosing anything to PCM.

If the DTS core sounds that goood, imagine how the full DTS-HD master track will sound. I'll be glad when the PS3 is upgraded to decode it.

is there any reason it couldnt all fit on one disc? no way the movie and extras take up 50gig. and no way that bonus disc eats up all 25 gig. i thought one advantage of blu-ray was all that extra space.... you know, so extras dont have to go on a 2nd disc.
