Default 'Polar Express' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'The Polar Express' is up. Hitting stores a full year after its HD DVD counterpart, he says this Blu-ray holds up as a solid release, delivering a strong video transfer and a soundtrack to match.

My wife, myself, and her brothers, sister, and their spouses saw this flick in the theaters. My brother in law and myself were the only ones not CRYING during this movie. My brother in law and I just looked at them like ''COME ON!! You are CRYING!! PLEASE!! Act like you have a pair!!'' Kids loved it and they did not cry at all.

I have this movie on a 2 disc DVD and will pick the blu-ray up when i find it. THis is one of my favorite christmas movies it may become a classic someday IMHO.sure the eyes of the characters dont look as real as they could but the movie puts me in the Holiday spirit. THis should be a good blu release

The movie had me crying in horror at how unintentionally creepy all the characters looked.

Thumbs down What IS GOING ON HERE?

I have read reviews on this site for a while and they just keep getting worse by the review. I realize that a ton of movies are being released now on both formats, but that does not excuse Deterring other people from watching EXTREMELY GOOD AND BREATHTAKING MOVIES LIKE THE POLAR EXPRESS. What else could a movie nedd than AMAZING Graphics (honestly some of the best I have EVER seen), a gripping Story and a wholesome Holiday theme. To label this move as "Worth A Look" is like saying the Redsox barely won the World Series. Take your job more seriously because I am watching closely.

Sad to think Warner would keep a lossless track off of this to keep "parody" with its hd-dvd release. There's 20gb of extra space, what a waste Warner. That's room for a pcm 5.1 track.

My family and I love this flick. Breathtaking is a good way to describe this flick. I dont think the characters look that creepy that much at all. Amazing..yes. Creppy..no. The blu version is awesome..as well as the hd dvd version.

RIGHT? I watched it with my kids again last night on ABC and couldn't believe how creepy the characters looked. The voice and image of the kid with the glasses were horrible. And the "hot chocolate" waiters were the worst... EXTRA CREEPY. The only one who wasn't a total ghoul was the shy kid from the wrong side of the tracks.

Hope Beowulf is rendered more like "Final Fantasy" than Polar Express. Personally, I think it's a mistake to try to make your digital characters look like the real actors. Isn't the point to create a fantasy? Tom Hanks looked awful though the conductor was the best rendered of the lot (the bushy mustache and hat helped for some reason)

I love this movie, one of the best holiday films of all time if you ask me. I didn't think it was creepy, but beautifully done. Sad Warner didn't put lossless on this disc, what a waste of a great soundtrack. Sure it sounds "good" but think what this could have sounded like. That's why I am not buying it. Maybe they will reissue it with lossless like they did with Superman Returns. If they released this without lossless because the hd-dvd didn't have it, then someone has their screw loose at Warner Brothers. If they made a mistake the first time on hd-dvd (or didn't have enough space), no reason to screw over buyers this time too.
