Default Fox Promises Expanded Blu-ray Support in 2008

Fox Home Entertainment kicked off a two-day Blu-ray media event in Los Angeles with a bang Monday, pledging a strong Blu-ray release slate for 2008 that could hit as high as 100 new titles.

Although the studio declined to list specific titles, Fox reps said that they intended to support releases of A-list Blu-ray titles day-and-date with the Standard DVD "when we can

I guess Fox didn't discuss the BD+ break during their presentation.

They'll announce hundreds and then push them all back to December of 08...

We may finally get the Alien announcement soon.

This is exciting news. Maybe it will be the year Fox breaks into its classic library and releases movies like Planet of the Apes, The Sound of Music, Hello Dolly, Patton, Sand Pebbles, the Cinemascope films and the other Rodgers and Hammerstein films, and seems like we will get DTS master on all of them, finally lossless on these movies.

The more the better. I have been with hd-dvd since August. I love it so much I decided to get myself a Blu-Ray player also for films that are Blu-Ray exclusive like the POTC and others

For just is not reliable. Everything is pushed back, canceled. Sure, it sounds good now, but until they make good on their word, I have trouble swallowing this.
