Default '3:10 to Yuma' -- pre-release buzz

Lionsgate has just announced a January 8 arrival for the remake of '3:10 to Yuma':

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/310toyuma2007.html

No specs yet, but it is billed as a special edition, so there should be some good stuff on the set.

Retail is $39.98.

Stay tuned for specs soon...

Yes!! Easily one of my most anticipated titles. Glad to see I can get it soon. I'm also excited to see it's labled as a special edition.

Cool, missed it in theaters, but I will be getting the Blu-Ray.

How come this news didn't make it on the homepage?

Saw it in theaters and thought it was good but not great. People who haven't seen it should rent first because it seems to lack something here and there that takes it away from being as entertaining/impacting as other more well-known/popular westerns.

Certainly many moments are excellent but I found that I was a little unsatisfied by the end of the piece.

YMMV, but I think it will ultimately be kind of like the split reception that "The Host" got - some genre-lovers will think it's awesome and other genre-lovers will think it was just worth seeing once.

I saw it in the theater and I would put it up there with "Unforgiven". I will definitely buy this one.

^^^The actors are nice and all but don't expect mind-blowing performances. They do well with what is given but the script has no clear "written for oscar" moments. The parts of the leads are very sort of quiet and restrained, and they are rarely (if ever) given a chance to "cut loose". Ben Foster actually steals the show acting-wise as his character is just so eccentric compared to the others, and he plays it perfect.

Again, I would rent first though - unless you're truly the type that blind-buys everything and just doesn't care.

I absolutely loved the movie.

Russell Crowe and Christian Bale are both very good, but Ben Foster steals the show. I'll be disappointed if he doesn't get a nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

I cannot wait for this on Blu-ray.
