Casino Royale & Departed
It seems like Amazon wants to do every other per-order besides the two I have been waiting for.
The Departed comes out on 2/13 and Casino Royale on 3/13, but it looks like almost every movie on their same release dates already are up for pre-sale except for the two heavy hitters many people are eagerly waiting for.... -

It's a crying shame that we don't get Casino Royale on HD-DVD, but yeah The Departed is gonna smoke on this new format. I guess we will just have to buy so many HD-DVDs that we end this format war and every studio goes HD-DVD. Then we will get our Casino Royale.

Batman Begins is not exclusive to HD-DVD. There is a fairly common image circulating on the Internets of a few prototype discs/packages, including Pirates of the Caribbean in the same shot, but anyways. Warner Bros is supporting both Blu-ray and HD-DVD, although the majority of their releases have been HD-DVD only. Superman Returns was their only BIG release that's on both formats, I believe. Well and the other Superman flicks, I suppose.
I bet Bateman Begins, er, sorry, BATMAN Begins will be released on those Total HD discs sometime later this year.
And Casino Royale is going to be Blu-ray only for a very very very very very long time (Sony movie - hell it has Blu-ray product placement). Unsure of The Departed. I don't remember if that was a Sony film or not. But it sure was a badass film, and I'm definitely buying it.Last edited by MentokTheMindTaker; 01-19-2007 at 03:16 PM. Why would they release Batman on Total HD if it is already on just HD DVD already?

Maybe Sony paid Amazon to not put a preorder up, and wait closer to the release, to make it more possible for the movie to top the charts, and give them something to brag about? It is possible...

Well I've been waiting for ages to pre-order The Departed - surely it has to appear soon given the Feb release date!

casino royale will probably never shower up on hd-dvd cos it's distribution company is Sony.
