Default 'Silver Surfer' - High-Def Digest review

Just posted Peter's review of 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.' He calls Fox's return to the Blu-ray fold a triumph, boasting a fantastic transfer and soundtrack, plus a ton of supplements (including a couple of Blu-ray-exclusive interactive games).

Didn't see it in theater so I'll give this one a rent. Also, I didn't care for the first one but I do love The Silver Surfer character, I used to watch the cartoon show when I was younger.

Good to see Fox putting out quality transfers again, still the best Blu-ray I have seen is Kingdom of Heaven, DC. Not sure about this movie though, I didn't see it, and the first one was stupid, imo.

I thought this movie and the original were entertaining because they didn't take themselves too seriously....other comic movies like daredevil and elektra failed because they tried to get the serious tone of x-men and spiderman, but fantastic 4 has been entertaining. I dont think of it as a great comic book movie, even a great movie, but it was enjoyable. I think this transfer is incredible....glad fox is releasing movies again

I was dissapointed in this movie. PQ and AQ are outstanding, but the movie sucked.

oh and I think there is an error in your review.

Although Von Doom (Julian McMahon, sleepwalking) is initially all chummy with the Four, it doesn't take long for him to get back to his old tricks. We soon learn that he's plotting to bring a messenger of the great universe-destroying Galactus, in the form of the Silver Surfer, to gobble up our planet without mercy.
Von Doom doesn't bring the Silver Surfer or Galactus, he doesn't even know about Galactus. They come on their own, but once Von Doom figures out the board is the source of power, he plans to get it.

Apparently this title is not playing properly on all Blu-ray players. From AVS:

The BD-P1000 - can be finicky, some have stuttering
BD-P1200 - get a screen saying to update firmware, will not play
LG BH100 - reports that it doesn't work

Seems to be OK on the following:

Pioneer - ok
Sony - ok
Panny - ok
BD-P1400-ok
