Staggeringly bad movie. Has the potential to be demo material though but delaying this to add a few bells and whistles isnt going to make a difference to its sales..

That would be like if they delayed I Know Who Killed Me to add more extras, I dont want more extras, I bearly want the film.

I just watched this tonight...it's a so-so monster movie but the elevator scene is PURE GOLD!

    *possible spoilers*

Broderick escapes several babies into an elevator, which promptly takes him up to another floor where the doors automatically open. Standing there are 3 more babies which are tearing apart the concession stand and eating everything. The closest one has a big bag of popcorn hanging from its mouth, and it just sort of looks at Broderick like "WTF?" Matt says " sorry, wrong floor." and just calmly closes the door.

Whoever thought that scene up is awesome.

Haven't seen Cloverfield but I'm willing to bet you see more of a giant monster in Godzilla then in Cloverfield.

I watch movies to be entertained. Godzilla entertains, even if it insults your intelligence at times.

Cloverfield is amazingly entertaining and 1000 times better than Godzilla '98. Sure you do not see the monster as often, but it was a different approach that totally worked. (As a sidenote, I did enjoy the effects and American Godzilla look of the Godzilla '98. I will be picking it up when available). Now lets just hope Paramount is producing Blu-ray again by the time Cloverfield is released!
    is the future!

As a matter of fact there is. Toho is releasing a whole batch of Godzilla flicks on Blu-ray (Japan Blu-rays are the same region as the US so they will play). Here's the link but you will probably need to use Google Translate to read some of it. I have read several reviews and these are supposed to be spectacular transfers all with lossless audio, some of them just came out and another batch coming in January, the problem is I don't know if they have English subtitles (which I prefer instead of the terrible English dubs):

I didn't care for this movie at all. Watched it a couple of times, just doesn't do it for me.
