Default 'Celine Dion: A New Day' -- pre-release buzz

The unstoppable Celine is ending her rampage in Vegas, and now you can experience it in all the magic of high-definition:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/celinedion_newday.html

No specs yet, but show was captured entirely in HD cameras, so should look and sound great.

Street date is December 11, and retail $29.98. Stay tuned for specs.

I read that on her site, it says "high definition DVD" and not Blu-ray. I also thought perhaps it could just be a DVD with excellent quality, like Sony did when they released Cirque du Soleil's Varekai, it said high-def cameras used on a sticker but it was a standard def DVD. The info reads "The show has been documented in a deluxe High-Definition DVD, which will be released later this year by Sony/BMG Music worldwide" which doesn't neccessarily signify Blu-ray. It would be nice, but not sure.

Wink

Sony Music Norway states clearly that a Blu-Ray release from Celine Dion is expected:

03.11.07 CELINE DION TBA (BLU-RAY)

They may have the date wrong but they clearly state a blu-ray release.

Her web site should be corrected. Sony used similar wording for Varekai, so it was unclear.

We actually held off on this post, until Sony BMG confirmed a Blu-ray version. There will also be a standard def DVD as well.

Hopefully we'll get specs soon. You know you can't wait. : )

Now there's nothing wrong with a title that skews more toward the ladies. It can be a Christmas present, get-out-of-trouble present, or your secret weapon in obtaining your lady's "permission" for that new HDTV purchase.

Bring on Sex In The City, I say. That'll score major points.
