"Simpsons" Movie: Dec 18!!!!!
Fox has announced this is coming out on Dec 18. They had already announced the sd version for this date, so no surprise here. But confirmation is always nice. I will refrain from the obvious Fox disclaimer.

I saw this in theaters and I can honestly say that I can't wait for this release. I really hope that Fox doesn't delay this title.

The movie was decent enough, but probably wasn't good enough to warrant the $39.99 msrp, unless it's really packed to the brim with extras, as well as some blu-ray exclusive stuff.

I hate Fox's lame $39.99 MSRP. I don't know if I'll pick this up or not, considering even on Amazon it will be $29.99.

I'm all over it!
I know I should be say, "Wah MSRP!" ,but I'm not. I'd probably pay $39 for this title. I'm sure it will be more like $29 when it hits Fry's shelf so I'm not gonna sweat it.
At least the DTS-HD folks haven't started up again, or maybe they morphed into the MSRP crowd.55" Samsung 650 LCD

Not getting this BD, in fact......
Since Ive seen this movie countless times and also something else I cannot speak of, I will not be picking up this movie. I am sure the BD will look great and sound great (Not the Lossless portion of course since nobody can decode DTS-HD Master Audio on a wide scale yet), but the SD version is good enough for me at this time. I am also sure the price will be ungodly compared to the DVD version. If it were on HD-DVD and more affordable with Dolby TrueHD I would be all over it.

The announcement article says the movie almost grossed 300 million worldwide, that's incorrect. According to both boxofficemojo and imdb the movie grossed over 500 million worldwide.

Yes it will probably be mid-20's to 29.95 on Amazon could be less elsewhere. I am glad about this release, very nice! Blu ray's getting some great titles this holiday season :-)....
As far as the DTS HD, the new Samsung Combi player coming out, with a promised firmware update for DTS HD before Christmas, plus my new Pioneer Elite amp, will be able to play it. Also, with Fox's blu-rays that have DTS HD and master, the downconversion to DTS is much better than DTS was on regular dvd and much better than a compressed dolby digital soundtrack, so it should pretty darn good even in regular DTS. -
