Default Pearl Harbor -- pre-release buzz (or buzzkill?)

Release Announcement:
http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...ay_Line-Up/314

Alright, I know some of you might like this one, but 'Pearl Harbor' -- yuck! Though I guess it is the type of film tailor-made for high-def.

Disc Details:

Exactly, if they get this right it could be a great reference disc. Just fast forward until the attack starts and the film isn't so bad!

This movie is about 40 minutes longer than Black Hawk Down, so it must be released on a BD-50. If not, I cannot imagine what we are going to get on a single BD-25.

I think it is a good test before doing the LOTR releases.

Default Director's Cut

Apparantly this is not going to be the Director's Cut. This one I think I am going to buy anyway but I really don't know why the majority of blu-ray releases where a Director's Cut also exists offer only the theatrical releases. I would have bought Dark Water had it been it the Director's Cut.

I was hoping they would include all the extras from The 4 Disc.

Oh come on dude this is possibly the worst World War 2 movie ever. I mean come on you can remove the whole Pearl Harbor attack and it would not effect the main storyline whatsoever. If that ain't screwed up I don't know what is.

Very true, but it is an audio-visual delight when the main attack happens. I just ignore it for the story line and revel in the aural thrills when the main attack starts!

The audio details are released on Buena Vista's page if you want to add them to the listing.

Delicious 24-bit PCM. More lossless audio from the Blu-ray exclusive studios.

Excellent news - this has the potential of being a great BD release. Looks like it is going the right way so far!

The preview clip for this title defintely looked like reference material.

I had PQ stutter on Gone in 60 Seconds disc on all 3 Sammy players I had. Got an exhange & the PQ stuttered on that copy as well. I own & have not watched Enemy of the State (no player yet). If I get PQ stutter from the Sony player on both these titles.. so long Disney BD

Good to hear! Besides , nothing wrong with using PQ - I think it is a widely understood term!
