Default 'Nip/Tuck - Fourth Season' - High-Def Digest review

Kenneth's review of 'Nip/Tuck: The Complete Fourth Season' is up. He says this Blu-ray is a clear improvement over its standard-def counterpart, boasting a great video transfer and an above-average audio track.

I like the show..but not enough to buy the season on bd. Now if they ever release The Shield on bd or hd dvd, then I would strongly consider it. Never bought tv shows on dvd/hi def disc. Heroes made me think twice about it. But still decided not to.

I don't think The Shield would benefit much from HD. The majority of the show is shot on 16mm in quick-and-dirty fashion, often with erratic focus and lighting. Significant portions are also shot on Standard Def DV.

That's just the show's aesthetic. It isn't meant to look good. There might be some small improvement, but it will never be eye candy.

I've never seen this, I might pick it up if it was the first season.
