Default 'Live Free Die Hard/Die Hard Collection' -- pre-release buzz

Fox has officially sent along details for both 'Live Free Die Hard' and the 'Die Hard Collection'

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/livefreediehard.html
http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/1105...ollection.html

Both are due November 20, and look like great sets.

Each flick will receive the BD-50 treatment, with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video, DTS-MA audio, multiple audio commentaries, featurettes, etc.

List price is $39.98 for 'Live Free Die Hard' and $138.98 for the box set.

UPDATE (9/17/07): Fox has re-jiggered its 'Die Hard' plans: all three earlier Die Hard flicks will also be made available as stand-alone Blu-ray releases as well:

Default Ive been waiting for this....

Some of my favorite action films, I own the Trilogy on Laser Disc (THX/AC3 Editions) and refuse to upgrade to the DVDs. I want to go streight to HD for those films. BUT! As with all of Fox's line up, ill be waiting for the PS3 to be able to fully decode and output as LPCM, DTS-HD Master Audio. Once that happens, I will rush and get the following:

28 Days Later
28 Weeks Later
Die Hard Trilogy (Dont know about Live Free, I think Id want it to be R or unrated edition)
The Day after tomorrow
I,Robot,
ID4
Robocop (Only if its the X-Rated cut)

This would be quadruple dipping. Time to think.

BTW, Robocop is indeed the R rated version (which sucks), and Live Free Or Die Hard appears to be Unrated.

That's it, that's all I needed to hear, I'm going Blu.

But why does Blu-ray keep producing discs with DTS HD MA when there's no player and no player yet announced that can decode it? This really pisses me off!!

Now we just need to all go out and buy the $1999 Denon BD player and an HDMI 1.3 receiver so we can actually hear these lossless audio tracks.

Thanks Fox, I can't wait to hear DVD quality audio from a disc with an MSRP of $39.99.

I'll probably just be picking up Live Free. I wanted the first movie, but I didn't care for the other two films. I guess I'll wait till they break up the set to indulge myself with Nakatomi Plaza in high def.

Completely sucks that they're bundling the first three. I only want the first one, the rest are utter rubbish!

It would be nice if they were priced a bit lower.

Fox needs to get a clue. This DTS-HD MA crap has either got to stop or they need to include another lossless audio track.

The players need to implement TDS-HD MA decoding.

Only Fox is releasing their films in DTS HD MA.

Has this been confirmed? I enjoyed Die Hard 4 the PG13 version but I was hoping the R version would come out on disc.

Len Wiseman's DVD and Blu-ray releases usually have a lot of special features. So i am wondering if that is all there will be for Live Free or Die Hard. I think there will be more, I think the making of will have many parts, I think there might be 2 commentary tracks, Flyleaf – “I’m So Sick” music video will probably be there also deleted scenes and bloopers (out takes).
